Iron Orchid Designs Cubano Stamp

Iron Orchid Designs Cubano Stamp

Happy New Year!!!  Trying not to dwell on what 2020 has in store.   Just thinking positively and taking it a day at a time.  The older I've gotten the more I have realized that life needs to be lived a minute at a time!!

I found this piece and have little invested in it so I knew I wanted to try the Cubano stamp.  I love how my southern accent in the video makes it sound like I'm saying "cabana".  Good lord!  Bear with me people it probably isn't going to change!!  Anyway I learned a lot in this process.  One - this stamp makes different designs and I could have started out much easier by just placing the corner at my mark in the center and it would have been much easier to ensure it was centered.  You probably saw that right off the bat.  Please learn from my mistakes!  Second - while I'm still not sure what this piece is after I have it finished I have decided it might possibly be a small desk.  I think it would work as one anyway.  It was really an easy project.  The stamp is easy to line up and the design is busy so it is forgiving if you get it a little bit off.  Also sanding and distressing, which I prefer, helps with that as well.  The piece was very shiny and I had sanded it before painting.  I had the Gravel Road paint I used for stamping a little thin and it re-activated the Old School paint and pulled a tiny bit up revealing the stained top.  I love that look!.  It makes it look older and worn.  This would be a great idea for old floors, backsplashes, tabletops, or just a hanging decoration! You can get all these products on our website and we will be glad to help if you need it!  Just message us.
